This is my most successful image because it displays the setting sun as back lighting. The back lighting creates a glowing effect around the outline of the leaves of the tree. Additionally, the back lighting from the sun also brings forth the details on some of the leaves as well. I think the contrast between the darker shadows of the leaves that are not in the sun with the lighter leaves are also an interesting look. The most challenging part of this assignment was deciding what time of day would be best to get the different kinds of lighting. In the future, I might go out during different times of the day to get pictures of the same objects to see how the lighting varies.Â

"The details in this photo are very beautiful. I like your use of back lighting to capture the details of the leaf. This adds a great amount of texture to the image as well. The colors and shading are very unique too in how it has a glossy effect to it. Overall, I think you a did a great job capturing the beauty of this leaf!"

3. Focus
The focus is primarily on the leaves, which is appropriate because the leaves are the central subject of the image. However, some parts of the leaves are slightly shadowed, making it difficult to see all the details. If the light in the foreground had been stronger, it might have enhanced the texture and shape of the leaves.
1. Main Attraction of the Photo & Composition
The main attraction of the photo is the silhouette of the leaves against the bright sky. The photographer has composed the image in an interesting way by shooting upward, capturing the light filtering through the leaves, which adds a natural, dynamic element to the scene.
2. Depth of Field
The depth of field appears relatively shallow, with the leaves in the foreground clearly defined while the background is softer. This choice complements the subject by drawing attention to the intricate details and shapes of the leaves while still allowing the sky and light to play a secondary, but significant, role.
